Branding & Positioning
Whether welcoming invitations, stark warnings of impending danger, or shining beacons of comfort and relaxation, signs guide our world. From simple restroom signs to directional street signs to 10-foot tall letters advertising corporations atop skyscrapers, signs are necessary communication tools that help us navigate the facets of everyday life, even if sometimes it may feel like they’re blockin’ out the scenery. Sure much of the signage out there is industrial, requiring elaborate engineering and professional installation.
Purpose
We see signage every single day – they’re an essential part of life. In the workplace, you’ll discover health and safety signs littered here, there and everywhere. Pop to town for groceries and you’ll notice that shop signage is plentiful, detailing opening hours plus displays of discounts and deals. Even the infamous golden arches of McDonald's can be considered signage! Quite simply, signs are often designed to help individuals recognize or identify a place or brand. In terms of brand identity, Coca-Cola and Starbucks have become instantly over the years and recognizable high street signs as part of their marketing strategy.
